<p>Our client is a large retailer built on innovation, collaboration, and a deep passion for empowering individuals through fashion. We are looking for an Assistant Merchandise Planner to help their brand make business decisions nationwide.</p> <p>Salary/Hourly Rate:</p> <p>$68k Annually</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>We are looking for an analytical, detail-oriented, and fashion-forward Assistant Merchandise Planner to support our client's Merchandise Planning team. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with buying, planning, and allocation teams to help forecast inventory needs, analyze sales trends, and contribute to key business decisions that drive profitability and growth.</p> <p>Responsibilities of the Assistant Merchandise Planner:</p> <ul> <li>Support the planning and forecasting of sales, inventory, and margin by category or department. </li><li>Analyze historical sales and current trends to identify opportunities and risks. </li><li>Assist in the development of seasonal plans and in-season performance strategies. </li><li>Collaborate with buyers to determine assortment strategies and inventory flow. </li><li>Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports with actionable insights. </li><li>Support inventory allocation decisions to ensure optimal store and e-commerce performance. </li><li>Maintain planning tools and systems with accurate and timely data. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience/Skills for the Assistant Merchandise Planner:</p> <ul> <li>1 - 2 years of experience in retail planning, merchandising, or a related analytical role. Internships will be considered as well. </li><li>Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). </li><li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. </li><li>Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience/Skills for the Assistant Merchandise Planner:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with planning tools such as JDA, SAP, or similar systems. </li><li>Knowledge of retail math, open-to-buy processes, and KPI tracking. </li><li>Passion for fashion and current industry trends. </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field is required. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Client-provided benefits available, upon eligibility. </li></ul>
