<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Description: The Barkhamsted School is seeking qualified applicants to facilitate the K-6 aftercare program. The qualified candidate will be professional, have experience working with elementary school aged children, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be available Monday - Friday during after school hours (3:00 pm - 6:00 pm).</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Operate the after school program on a daily basis with a co-teacher </li><li>Supervise children and provide a safe, welcoming environment </li><li>Facilitate activities such as snack, outdoor play, board games, etc. </li><li>Maintain positive relationships with families, children, and school personnel </li><li>Set up and clean up of program site </li><li>Collaborate well with a co-teacher during program time </li><li>First Aid/CPR/Meds administration certification to be acquired within 3 months of hire </li><li>Other duties as may be assigned </li><li>Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with school age children </li><li>Knowledge of child development </li><li>Awareness of age-appropriate activities </li><li>Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills </li><li>Demonstrated reliability and strong sense of responsibility </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to stand for the entire shift and move through program space (indoor and outdoor) with students </li></ul> <p>Pay: hourly rate of $20.32</p> <p>Apply Online</p>
