Whether you are a recent graduate or a seasoned professional, we offer a diverse range of opportunities where you will be challenged and encouraged to grow.</p> <p>The HR Generalist performs human resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: payroll, employee/labor relations, training, data processing, recruitment/employment, performance management, onboarding, affirmative action, policy implementation and employment law compliance. Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solutions; coaching and counseling managers and employees.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Reports To: (position) HR Manager </li><li>Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. </li><li>Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations. </li><li>Act as a liaison with our third party to assist with the short-term disability and FML process. </li><li>Recruits, reviews resumes, and interviews candidates to fill vacant full and part-time positions, including co-ops. Some business travel may be required (e.g., co-op and recruitment fairs). </li><li>Process new hires, terminations, pay and all other status changes. </li><li>Plans and conducts new employee orientation and builds positive employee relations through efficient and informational onboarding process. </li><li>Facilitates or provides training to the workforce. </li><li>Maintains personnel files and required postings in compliance with federal and state regulations. </li><li>Assists with the Employee Growth and Development process. </li><li>Assists with CBA interpretation, preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations and meetings. </li><li>Develops, recommends, and participates in the implementation of new programs, as well as enforces current policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards of operation. </li><li>Actively identifies gaps, proposes, and implement changes necessary to cover risks. </li><li>Provides analysis and reporting of business-related data. </li><li>Assists with planning and monitoring of the HR budget. </li><li>Manages Affirmative Action program; files EEO-1 report annually. Acts as Equal Opportunity Employment Coordinator. </li><li>Appropriately responds to employee requests and questions. </li><li>Manages special projects. </li><li>Assists managers/supervisors with payroll accuracy. Understand and execute payroll rules contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreements. </li><li>Conducts exit interviews to gain insight on turnover and provide recommendations for retention. </li><li>Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills. </li></ul> <p>Education Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Required High School or Equivalent </li><li>Preferred Associate's Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration </li><li>Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration </li></ul> <p>Experience Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Required 3+ years with HS Education and </li><li>Required 1+ years with an Associate degree </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Union manufacturing experience strongly preferred </li><li>Knowledge of principles and practices of HR Administration </li><li>Knowledge of employment laws and regulations </li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality </li><li>Attention to detail </li><li>Good organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Excellent computer knowledge and skills, preferably with Microsoft Office Suite and Workday experience strongly preferred </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <ul> <li>SHRM-CP - Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) PHR Upon Hire Preferred </li></ul> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.</p> <p>#MonumentChemical</p>
