<p>This is a non-Civil Service position in the Office of Family Safety and will provide full advocacy services to OFS clients experiencing interpersonal violence (domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, child abuse, and elder abuse) and will serve as a liaison with related metro and non-profit agencies to support clients. This position will primarily be working at our court-based center, The Jean Crowe Advocacy Center.</p> <p>Candidates must submit the following to be considered:</p> <ul> <li>Resume </li><li>Cover Letter </li><li>References </li><li>Answer the supplemental questions </li></ul> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide crisis intervention and advocacy services for victims of interpersonal violence including:</p> </li><li> <p>Safety planning</p> </li><li> <p>Needs assessments</p> </li><li> <p>Referral services and connection to resources</p> </li><li> <p>Risk/Danger Assessment</p> </li><li> <p>Assists clients with Ex Parte Order of Protection Paperwork and presents this information to the Court Commissioner.</p> </li><li> <p>Understands the civil and criminal court processes and helps clients navigate court systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes needs assessments and provides resources and resource connection.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates risk for clients and educates clients on level of risk. </p> </li><li> <p>Prepares client information for high-risk case review.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist partners in both Centers with client coordination and services. Partners include the Metro Nashville Police Department, the District Attorney's Office, the Sheriff's Dept., Metro Social Services, and Non-Profit Partners such as AGAPE, YWCA, Legal Aid, Sexual Assault Center, Mary Parrish, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Make referrals to link clients to a wide range of resources and services.</p> </li><li> <p>Translate for partners as needed and appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with Victims' Compensation applications.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Strong administrative skills with Microsoft program (Excel, Access, PowerPoint). </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of abuse and effective intervention strategies. </li><li>Demonstrated ability and willingness to engage in positive collaboration with individuals and groups with diverse perspectives. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills </li><li>Strong organizational skills </li><li>Background check </li><li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university </li><li>Bilingual Preferred </li><li>Problem solver, highly efficient, and detail-oriented </li><li>Minimally two years' experience working or volunteering with victims of interpersonal violence (domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, child abuse, and elder abuse) or related issues </li><li>Experience with data management and analytics, particularly Microsoft Access </li><li>Experience working in or with both non-profits and the criminal justice system </li><li>Experience working with multidisciplinary teams/collaboratives </li><li>Experience working under and reporting on grants </li></ul> <p>Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>This position is an in-person position within one of the two Family Safety Centers. </li><li>Client-facing positions are expected to spend the majority of the workday working directly with clients who have experienced abuse. </li></ul> <p>Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.</p> <p>Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078.
