The Culver City Adult School offers a broad range of classes designed to fit the needs of the surrounding community, is WASC accredited and is a member of the California Adult Schools Network.</p> <p>Requirements / Qualifications</p> <p>This is a 16-hour per week Monday - Thursday position. Definite Schedule TBD Qualifications: - A valid teaching California credential authorizing teaching ESL at the adult school level. - Plan and deliver effective and differentiated competency-based virtual instruction to adult students based on CCAS course outlines and student needs - Provide instruction to limited English speaking adults in a virtual learning environment by employing a variety of instructional strategies including lecture methods and small and whole-group discussion strategies - Deliver digital literacy instruction such as how to navigate a Learning Management System (Canvas) and video conferencing tools (Zoom). - Must design and deliver courses on campus during school hours - Must maintain office and campus hours, and participate in department meetings and committees - Be available within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) by email and in the courseroom to ensure learners receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success. - Experience teaching ESL - Teaching students with different learning abilities - Skilled at establishing clear lesson objectives and making course content accessible to students - Skillful at class management, including small group configurations - Ability to build and maintain a learning environment designed to motivate and retain students - Strong interest in professional growth including ongoing participation in professional development activities</p> <p>CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT All employment offers are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following: Fingerprint/background clearance, and a tuberculosis clearance. All candidates with a record of convictions must indicate such on the confidential/legal section of the application, which is attached to the job application. A record of conviction will not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment, but a failure to list all convictions may result in disqualification or dismissal.</p> <ul> <li>Copy of Transcript (Unofficial can be attached to the application but should you be selected sealed official transcripts will be required.) </li><li>Credential Copy </li><li>Letter of Introduction </li><li>Letter(s) of Recommendation (2 letters written preferably within the last two years) </li><li>Resume </li><li>Test Results/Materials (CBEST, CSET, PRAXIS etc.) </li></ul> <p>This is a 16-hour per week Monday - Thursday position.
