<p>Winchester High School Nurse :</p> <p>Description Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Licensed, as a School Nurse by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education; </li><li>Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Health as a Registered Nurse; Board of Registered Nurses </li><li>BSN required </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults; </li><li>Commitment to remain current in field knowledge, evaluation and counseling strategies; </li><li>CPR and AED certification by either AHA or ARC </li><li>Experience and commitment to working in a racially and culturally diverse teaching and learning community. </li></ul> <p>FULL TIME</p> <p>Winchester High School</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provides primary and emergency health care to all students. </li><li>Ensures preparation of a school health record on each child, including documentation of immunizations as required by law; </li><li>Implements the state-mandated screening: including Vision, Hearing, Growth, Postural and SBIRT ( Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment); </li><li>Administers medication;in accordance with school and district policies and procedures; Implements policies and procedures; </li><li>Participates in IMT Committees (Incident Management Safety Team; </li><li>Provides assistance to teachers in regard to children having medically related problems in school, or those who have a medical issue that the teacher/principal need to understand and address; </li><li>Develops Individualized Health Care Plans, Emergency Action Plans and Asthma Action Plans for students with various medical conditions. </li><li>Communicates and Collaborates effectively with colleagues </li><li>Attends Contractual staff and nursing meetings, and student related reentry, IEP, and/ or 504 meetings as needed. </li></ul> <p>Other duties as required.</p>
