Duties for this position include assessment and using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques to provide quality care; performing evaluations; providing a full range of therapeutic interventions, including individual and group counseling; consulting with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues; and potentially being involved in program evaluation.</p> <p>The other staff psychologist position is for a float psychologist. The float psychologist may work across a variety of outpatient settings as needed by the Mental Health service line. They may help cover extended leave or address a staffing gap while recruitment is occurring, with the duration of coverage for a specific clinic or team being variable. The float psychologist may also assist with the supervision of psychology interns and with program evaluation as needed.</p> <p>Psychologists diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological and/or neuropsychological assessments, treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders. Among the modalities provided are individual, family, and group psychotherapies, and other interventions such as biofeedback, psychological hypnosis, and environmental interventions. They consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues.
