<p>$15.30/hr Instructs and coaches children ages 6-18 in the 4 competitive swim strokes. Enforces rules concerning safety and behavior of participants. Set up and take down equipment such as lane lines, diving blocks, timing equipment, flags, etc. Runs bi-weekly swim meets. Interacts with the parents of swim team participants. Works to involve volunteer parent participation. Perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or administer first aid treatments as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.Must possess and maintain the Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches or must obtain within 30 days of hire. (Possession of WSI certification covers this requirement). Prefer possession of the Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification. Prefer possession of Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification. Must possess and maintain the Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification or must obtain the certification within 30 days of hire. Must posses and maintain basic first aid certification or must obtain the certification within 30 days of hire. Requires knowledge of competitive swimming and the teaching of those skills to children. Ability to deal politely and efficiently with the public. Ability to run an effective swim meet. Applicants must be in compliance with Recreation Department dress, personal appearance, and tattoo policy.
