Since 1954, Woodgrain is proud to be family owned and operated.</p> <p>PRIMARY ROLE: Responsible for the efficient and accurate daily operations of the shipping, receiving, transportation, and production departments. This position requires the ability to develop, implement, control, and adjust branch plans to mirror the company's growth strategy while simultaneously leading the team to achieve operational goals and efficiency targets for the branch in a safe productive environment.</p> <p>JOB EXPECTATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Ensures a safe working environment for all employees. </li><li>Daily activities for shipping, receiving, inventory control, and transportation departments. </li><li>Oversees and develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees by analyzing and adjusting daily, weekly and monthly to the volume of business in the branch. </li><li>Productivity goals for warehouse, production, transportation, receiving, and shipping. </li><li>Hiring, coaching, teaching, training, development, and performance evaluation of current employees and supervisors. </li><li>Ensures that all products built, received and/or shipped meet or exceed customer expectations. </li><li>Practice Lean programs within the branch and proactively drive continuous improvement. </li><li>Protects the assets of the company by implementing appropriate security and process controls. </li><li>Creation of capital expenditure requests and costs justifications for these expenditures. </li><li>Communicates priorities, progress, and expectations through daily huddle meetings (5- 10 minutes long) and monthly department meetings. </li><li>Working with GM or DC Manager to develop goals and objectives for the operations department. </li><li>Other duties as requested by management. </li></ul> <p>JOB SPECIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree with a concentration in logistics or related field </li><li>4+ years' experience and/or training </li><li>Experience in millwork and building materials is desirable </li><li>Lean or Six Sigma experience is beneficial </li><li>Experience in managerial assignments in the distribution industry is desirable </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) </li><li>Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. </li><li>Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the business community. </li><li>Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume - ability to apply concepts of basic Algebra and Geometry. </li></ul>
