<p>As a Field Engineer you will provide guidance and leadership in the field for our construction projects. You will be working within a team to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical and heavy industrial construction projects.</p> <ul> <li>Learn and stay familiar with the clients document control and change order log programs </li><li>Learn and stay familiar with ASME 31.1 and 31.3 Pipe codes. </li><li>Learn and stay familiar with the QC Manual and company NDE procedures. </li><li>Assist Roberts personnel with technical issues as required ensuring successful completion of a job. </li><li>Skilled at reading, understanding, and explaining isometric drawings, model reviews. </li><li>Check sketches, drawings, and work orders. </li><li>Distribute and manage controlled copies of fabrication drawings and sketches. </li><li>Identify what weld procedures are required. These WPSs are to be in a table on the fabrication drawing. </li><li>Communicate and provide work orders to the shop or site crews. </li><li>Produce as-built drawings after a job is complete. </li><li>Be familiar with the project schedule and provide updates to the project team as needed. </li><li>Become familiar with carbon steel, stainless steel and other alloy material requirements of the ASME code for the following applications: piping, flanges, fittings, plate, shapes, fasteners and gaskets. </li><li>Complete a bill of material take off from isometric drawings and/or orthographic drawings to support estimating and procurement. </li><li>Requisition BOM materials for assigned tasks. </li><li>Observe projects during and provide insight & helpful information to all personnel as required. </li><li>Learn Roberts' take-off program and perform take-offs on pipe, vessels, HXs, duct and other shop projects. </li><li>Learn Roberts' procedures and stay proficient in managing assigned task. </li><li>Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. </li><li>Perform project document audits on a weekly and/or monthly basis. </li></ul> <p>Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.</p> <p>Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.</p> <p>Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.</p> <p>Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.</p> <p>Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.</p> <p>Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.</p> <p>Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.</p> <p>Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.</p> <p>Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.</p> <p>Speech Clarity - The ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.</p> <p>Written Comprehension - The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.</p> <p>DISCLAIMER</p> <p>This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.</p> <p>Unless you are given a written contract signed by the President of The Roberts Company specifying an employment term, your employment is considered "at-will".
