Proficiency with Microsoft Project or other scheduling tool Exemplary verbal/written communication skills required for interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as vendors, suppliers, customers, etc. Desired: Experience working on DoD or other similar Government programs You will be responsible for leading one or more Photonics programs, working with development teams to propose, capture, and execute new Photonics programs and move them into production. This position will also require the ability to implement evolving programmatic, design and quality best practices within the team, and the ability to communicate with and influence executive leadership. Some programs are expected to have follow-on phases with volume production, and the position will also include a responsibility to work with production teams in adjacent organizations to Design For Manufacturing (DFM), and to support the transition to production. The Lead Program Manager is the primary interface to customers that are technically oriented, and the ability to effectively communicate with this community, with the support of the technical team, will be critical to success. The Lead Program Manager is responsible for program decisions, schedule, and profit & loss for the program. Problems faced are frequently complex and require broad-based solutions that impact areas outside of immediate responsibility. The emphasis will be on Engineering Development & Manufacturing (EMD) development programs that will initially produce small quantities of first-of-a-kind hardware and then require the leadership ability to transition these programs into higher volume production.
