<p>What to Expect</p> <p>The Manager, Operations and Engineering will be responsible for Operations and Engineering of Battery Structure at GigaFactory Nevada. This role will oversee the operation of automated welding and E-coat painting of Battery Structure (Enclosures and Top Covers), focusing on safety, build plan attainment, quality, cost efficiency, and team leadership while driving continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. The successful candidate possesses a strong Operations and Engineering background that will not only lead by example but also performance manage the team where needed to generate the highest value from every employee, strive to create an environment that is productive, encourage open communication, and foster a collaborative environment that is exciting and fun.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead daily production engineering and maintenance operations including planning, delivery, cost, yield (FPY), safety, quality, and staffing</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain?high standards?in safety, product quality, resource?utilization, and preventative maintenance of facilities and equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Hire, coach, and develop large cross-functional teams, both salaried and hourly</p> </li><li> <p>Support new product launches, upgrades, and material changes by developing process plans, tracking budgets, and resolving project risks</p> </li><li> <p>Manage engineering changes by assessing risks and creating mitigation plans, including heavy short-term process adjustments</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee all shop floor transactions and production systems with critical awareness of downstream impact</p> </li><li> <p>Lead and collaborate with Engineering, Process, Quality, and Maintenance to drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, efficiency, and 5S initiatives while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture</p> </li></ul> <p>What You'll Bring</p> <ul> <li> <p>Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience</p> </li><li> <p>8+ years in high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing (automotive preferred), with evidence of exceptional ability</p> </li><li> <p>Deep understanding of manufacturing KPIs, JIT systems, and action planning to drive results</p> </li><li> <p>Proven success in collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams</p> </li><li> <p>Track record?of building and leading motivated, technically strong teams</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of production systems, processes, product launches, and measurement/inspection techniques</p> </li><li> <p>Committed to driving a positive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and morale-focused work environment</p> </li><li> <p>Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing principles</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with metal joining technologies such as resistance welding, laser brazing, structural adhesive, and fastening systems highly preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience using 8D, 5 Why, Six Sigma (DMAIC), and other analytical and problem-solving methodology to drive data-driven decision making</p> </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:</p> <ul> <li>Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction </li><li>Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits </li><li>Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution </li><li>Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA </li><li>Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) </li><li>401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits </li><li>Company paid Basic Life, AD&D </li><li>Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) </li><li>Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays </li><li>Back-up childcare and parenting support resources </li><li>Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance </li><li>Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs </li><li>Tesla Babies program </li><li>Commuter benefits </li><li>Employee discounts and perks program </li></ul> <p>Tesla is an Equal Opportunity employer.
