This role involves providing comprehensive social work services that address barriers to learning and promote a positive school environment.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct assessments to identify students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs. </li><li>Develop and implement intervention plans to support students' well-being and academic success. </li><li>Provide individual and group counseling to students. </li><li>Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create supportive learning environments. </li><li>Advocate for students' needs and connect them with community resources. </li><li>Maintain accurate records and documentation of services provided. </li><li>Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in school social work. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CTDOE) certification in School Social Work. </li><li>Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field. </li><li>Strong understanding of child development and effective social work practices. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to create a positive and supportive environment for students. </li><li>Commitment to continuous professional growth and development. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in a diverse and inclusive educational setting. </li><li>Familiarity with the NASW Standards for School Social Work Services. </li><li>Knowledge of crisis intervention and conflict resolution strategies. </li></ul>
