Whitcomb School</p> <p>Work Year:</p> <p>2024-25 School Year</p> <p>Bargaining Unit:</p> <p>Cafeteria Workers, Local 888 SEIU</p> <p>Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority:</p> <p>Reports to the School Cafeteria Manager and Food Service Director</p> <p>Statement of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Performs tasks requiring an ordinary degree of skill in preparation and serving of food as well as other tasks required for the operation and sanitary maintenance of a food service facility or area. </li><li>Prepares vegetables and other foods for cooking </li><li>Makes soups and other simple hot foods, sandwich fillings, salad dressing, and simple desserts. </li><li>Prepares sandwiches and salads. </li><li>Serves lunch and snacks. </li><li>Operates electrical equipment such as mixers, potato peelers, slicing machines, dishwashers, and toasters. </li><li>Cleans tables and other kitchen equipment. </li><li>Collects and washes dishes, silver and cooling utensils, and puts them away. </li><li>Sweeps floor, cleans counters and tables, and counter and kitchen equipment, such as food containers, trays, cooking ranges, garbage cans, and refrigerators. </li><li>Receives and checks deliveries of food and other supplies. </li><li>Stores foods properly in refrigerators and storeroom. </li><li>Keeps stores in good order. </li><li>Assists in the taking of inventories of supplies, cashiering, and keeps simple records. </li><li>Works as a member of a cafeteria staff team. </li><li>Assist and monitor students in the cafeteria </li><li>Responsible for other general duties as assigned by the School Cafeteria Manager and Food Service Director, as indicated by the Principal, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee and policies of the Marlborough School Committee. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred </li><li>Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities </li><li>Experience in food service industry preferred </li><li>Must be a positive contributor as a team player </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find acceptable. </li></ul>
