<p>DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK</p> <p>RATE OF PAY: $15.00 per hour</p> <p>MINIMUM AGE: 16 years of age.</p> <p>HOURS OF WORK:</p> <p>10 to 20 hours per week</p> <p>Monday - Friday, 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.</p> <p>Weekends - any shift between 8:00 a.m. & 10:00 p.m.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:</p> <p>An employee in this class performs a wide variety of duties related to the operation and maintenance of the Dearborn Ice Skating Center. The employee assists in the general maintenance of the Arena; enforces safety on the ice; must be willing to fill in at the Snack Bar; act as scorekeeper for hockey games; work in Pro Shop when needed. Work is performed under close supervision, however as the employee gains experience in Arena operations, the level of duties and responsibility increase.</p> <p>SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>The ability to ice skate. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability and willingness to perform routine tasks associated with the operation and maintenance of a municipal ice arena. </li><li>Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other employees and the general public. </li><li>Some mechanical ability. </li><li>Ability and experience in scorekeeping hockey games. </li><li>Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING/LICENSING REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>EXAMINATION PROCEDURE:</p> <ul> <li>Applications will be reviewed. </li><li>Qualified applicants will be scheduled for an interview. </li></ul> <p>NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Satisfactory completion of a criminal background, and sex offender registry check and a drug screen that tests for illegal drugs as defined by the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act but not those legalized under Michigan law prior to start date.</p>
