The Lead Cloud Engineer role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable cloud solutions with robust governance, networking, and automation frameworks. This role drives infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and cost optimization using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Harness, while ensuring compliance, performance, and operational excellence across Eversource cloud environments.</p> <p>The Lead Platform Engineer, Cloud will also build automated Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Harness and Terraform, applying Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps) principles to ensure efficient, secure, and reliable deployments.</p> <p>The role is based in Berlin, CT.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>Azure Landing Zone & Governance:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Design and implement Azure Landing Zone hub-and-spoke topology, management groups, subscription design, tagging strategy, and cost management including budgets and landing zone accelerators.</p> </li><li> <p>Apply governance controls using Azure Policy, RBAC, and identity governance with Azure AD and conditional access.</p> </li></ul> <p>Networking & Security:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Architect secure and scalable networks leveraging Azure Virtual WAN (VWAN), Virtual Network Manager, IP address management, and Network Virtual Appliances (NVAs) with firewall integration.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage ER/VPN connectivity, DNS, and firewall configurations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Automation, Provisioning & Monitoring:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, and Harness for automated provisioning and configuration.</p> </li><li> <p>Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments.</p> </li><li> <p>Configure centralized logging and monitoring with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics; troubleshoot and optimize performance.</p> </li></ul> <p>Collaboration, Scalability & Scripting:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Utilize GitHub and JFrog Artifactory for source control and artifact management.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop automation scripts using Bash, PowerShell, and Python.</p> </li></ul> <p>Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Cloud & Governance: Azure Landing Zone, Azure Policy, RBAC, Azure AD</p> </li><li> <p>Networking: Azure VWAN, ER/VPN, DNS, Firewall</p> </li><li> <p>Automation & CI/CD: Harness, Terraform, Ansible</p> </li><li> <p>Scripting: Bash, PowerShell, Python</p> </li><li> <p>Collaboration Tools: GitHub, JFrog Artifactory, Jira</p> </li><li> <p>Monitoring: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics</p> </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in computer science, related technical discipline or related experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced degree desirable.</p> </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years in a technical engineering role or related experience working with technology or application solutions, including experience in architecture, design, implementation, support, and management of the technologies appropriate for the specific positions. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.</p> </li></ul> <p>HYBRID Schedule</p> <ul> <li>Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles.
