This individual serves as both a clinical resource and a mentor to other Medical Assistants, fostering a collaborative environment while promoting best practices in patient care. The Lead MA also assists in day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring smooth workflow, and adherence to clinical protocols within the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model.</p> <p>Primary Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Clinical Leadership:</p> <ul> <li>Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to the Medical Assistant team, acting as a clinical resource for questions and troubleshooting. </li><li>Assist in onboarding and training new Medical Assistants. </li><li>Monitor the performance of Medical Assistants, offering feedback and ensuring compliance with clinical protocols. </li><li>Collaborate with the clinical team to promote patient safety, quality care, and infection control practices. </li></ul> <p>Patient Care:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in direct patient care, including vital signs, rooming patients, administering vaccines, drawing blood, and preparing patients for exams and procedures. </li><li>Support clinicians with minor procedures, specimen collection, and documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. </li><li>Educate patients on health maintenance, chronic disease management, and preventive care under the direction of clinicians. </li></ul> <p>Operational Support:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure exam rooms are stocked and maintained, managing clinical supplies and inventory. </li><li>Manage vaccine inventory and cold chain processes for all stock types to ensure timely and safe access to immunizations. </li><li>Coordinate daily MA staffing and patient flow to maximize provider efficiency and reduce patient wait times. </li><li>Assist in maintaining accurate and complete patient records, ensuring all clinical documentation is completed in a timely manner. </li></ul> <p>Quality Assurance:</p> <ul> <li>Participates in quality improvement initiatives and projects aimed at improving clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. </li><li>Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements (HRSA, OSHA, etc.), and PCMH standards. </li><li>Conduct audits on clinical procedures, equipment checks, and infection control measures as needed. </li></ul> <p>Communication & Collaboration:</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate clear communication between clinical staff, providers, and patients to ensure coordinated care delivery. </li><li>Attend and contribute to regular clinical and operational meetings. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>3-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant required, preferably in a community health setting. </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required. </li><li>Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required. </li><li>Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency required. </li><li>Current CPR certification. </li><li>Strong clinical skills in patient care, specimen collection, and clinical procedures. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative team environment. </li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. </li><li>Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Microsoft Office applications. </li><li>Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Salary Description</p> <p>$23.00- $27.00</p>
