<p>Are you an electronics savvy electrician with experience working on electronically controlled instrumentation systems, life safety equipment, lighting circuits, electrical power systems, and mechanical equipment? Pinellas County's STAR Center has the perfect job opportunity for you!</p> <p>This is advanced technical field work in the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of electronic and electrical systems, wiring, electronic control devices, lift station motor controls equipment, fire alarm systems, and mechanical control systems. This position is responsible for complex electronically controlled instrumentation systems. However, other advanced responsibility for electrical power systems, lighting, and mechanical assignments may be included with this work; performs specialized work operating and troubleshooting assigned equipment.</p> <p>This position will be located at the Young-Rainey STAR Center at 7887 Bryan Dairy Rd. The schedule is Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.</p> <p>What Would You Do?</p> <ul> <li>Performs installation, maintenance, modification, calibration and repair of electronic and electrical, equipment and control systems. </li><li>Installs and maintains digital based surveillance and video recording systems, digital display boards, Uninterruptable Power Systems and maintenance of their battery storage systems. </li><li>Lead responsibility for maintaining site's life safety systems. </li><li>Detects causes of electronic and electrical failures, interprets and ensures compliance with established codes, calculates data necessary for wiring instrument systems and requisitions supplies and materials needed to complete tasks. </li><li>Assists in maintenance of facility electrical systems including lighting, motors, and lift stations </li><li>Trains other skilled personnel in all phases of a variety of electronic instrumentation, equipment and control systems; provides technical advice and assistance. </li><li>Inspects instrumentation and equipment to determine operating conditions, needed repairs and modifications and performs bench work repairs and/or overhauls and rebuilds electronic equipment. </li><li>Perform diagnostics and testing of backup power generating systems, equipment and performs tests on parts, modules or assemblies. </li><li>Prepares sketches, preliminary or work plans for establishment or modification of electrical systems. </li><li>Performs low and high voltage tasks. </li><li>Performs related work as assigned, or required. </li></ul> <p>What Do You Need To Have?</p> <p>Experience: 3 years of field electrical and electronics installation, maintenance, and repair experience (in one or more of the following: Facility electrical systems including lighting, life safety, fire suppression systems, springer systems, digital alarm system, card access systems, automatic transfer switches, lift stations, and uninterrupted Power Systems).</p> <p>Education: Degree or two-year technical degree in directly related coursework (Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronic Technology).</p> <ul> <li>3 years of experience as described above. </li><li>Associate's degree as described above, and at least 1 year of experience as described above. </li><li>Bachelor's or higher-level degree as described above. </li><li>An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. </li><li>Florida Driver's License </li><li>Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special emergency, and/or disaster situations. </li><li>Must be able to communicate in both written and oral forms of English. </li><li>Must be able to work off of ladders, lifts, bucket trucks, and at times in close spaces such as closets, basements and chases. </li><li>Dependability, Job Knowledge, and Communications are essential qualifications to the success of this position. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of standard tools, methods, theories, materials and practices of the electronic and electrical trades and local and state electrical codes. </li><li>Knowledge of electronic theory and equipment and electronic maintenance and repair practices and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of operating characteristics, capabilities and limitations of computer equipment and routine computer operations and terminology. </li><li>Skill in the use of tools and equipment used in the electronic and electrical trades. </li><li>Skill in troubleshooting automated systems and isolating breakdown causes. </li><li>Ability to relate technical information in a manner understandable to subordinates, superiors, and members of the public. </li><li>Ability to conduct tests, analyze results, take corrective steps and apply knowledge of electronic theory and troubleshooting procedures. </li><li>Ability to interpret and work from technical sketches and blueprints and locate, define and repair defects in equipment. </li><li>Ability to use a computer to complete assignments, track work, prepare communications, reports, etc. </li></ul> <p>Why Choose Pinellas County?</p> <p>When you join Pinellas County, you're not just taking on a job-you're investing in your future.
