<p>South Middle School is seeking a Daily Substitute Teacher for the 2025-2026 School Year. This position is for one year only.</p> <p>The building substitute will be expected to provide direct instruction and other educational services to students on a daily basis, rather than to assume merely a student-supervisory role. The building substitute will be assigned responsibilities daily by the school administration based on the needs of the building, and will be provided with as much support as possible to effectively fulfill these responsibilities.</p> <p>South Middle School is a public middle school that uses a team model to educate all learners in grades 5-8 through rigorous academics and a focus on positive social growth. The school is a state-of-the-art building, opened in 2023 with top-of-the-line technology and instructional spaces designed for collaboration and modern education. It is a healthy working environment, with modern fit and finishes and a natural aesthetic to support physical and emotional health. South is an inclusion school to support all learners' growth and readiness to contribute to the community.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li>Commitment to the development of all learners; eagerness to build personal connections in support of every student's learning; </li><li>Effective organizational skills to maintain a busy and fluctuating schedule, demonstrating punctuality and reliability; </li><li>Skills for professional communication with colleagues to support a collaborative atmosphere; </li><li>Self-regulation to model for young adolescents the constructive demeanor and problem-solving stance needed in a high-demand, high-expectations workplace; </li><li>Flexibility to adapt to the needs of various classrooms across grades and subject areas; </li><li>Experience with 10-14 year olds (preferred), or demonstrated capacity to support the unique needs of this age group; </li><li>Teacher certification is not required, but this position offers an invaluable opportunity for a developing educator to gain experience in the field, to build a professional network with a skilled and veteran faculty, and to observe the methods and curriculum applied in a high-achieving, 21st century learning environment. </li></ul> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>$125/day (180 days)</p> <p>15 sick days; 3 personal days</p> <p>OBRA</p> <p>Non-union position</p>
