<p>HEAD TEACHER- LAFAYETTE CSD PROGRAM</p> <p>The Head Teacher shall be the employee member of the school staff designated by the</p> <p>Superintendent of Schools to assist in the administration of the department or program.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Five years' experience in Education </li><li>Current MA teaching license, moderate or severe disabilities, special education, guidance, counseling, or related field </li><li>SEI endorsement </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in School Administration from an accredited institution </li><li>Massachusetts State Certification as a Principal / Assistant Principal </li></ul> <p>Candidates should possess:</p> <ul> <li>The ability to support the implementation of ASD, CSD and special education programming at the Lafayette. </li><li>The ability to develop the full potential of a highly competent staff. </li><li>A strong background in curriculum with experience in program design, evaluation, and management. </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of special education regulations, the referral process, </li></ul> <p>IEP development and compliance.</p> <ul> <li>A proven record in the management of students and student activities. </li><li>Superior skills in articulating the goals and objectives of the school to the community </li></ul> <p>of Everett.</p> <ul> <li>The ability to articulate the district philosophy to support families of students in crisis or need. </li><li>Knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, best practices for students on the autism spectrum, and effective teaching strategies. </li><li>Advanced computer skills </li></ul> <p>WORKING TIME:</p> <p>According to the Everett Teachers Association contract</p> <p>DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Implement and supervise curriculum, establish course outlines, and provide education objectives consistent with the community educational goals. </li><li>Employ an efficient system for pupil and program appraisal and make recommendations for changes needed to improve existing programs to meet the needs of students. </li><li>Evaluate student data with the teachers to make informed instructional decisions </li></ul> <p>that support individual student performance and achievement.</p> <ul> <li>Support the identification of students for the program in collaboration with school leaders and monitor student progress. </li><li>Apply exit and entry criteria for students being considered for the program. </li><li>Collaborate with other school leaders to ensure the needs of multilingual learners are met within the CSD program. </li><li>Be visible at district and community events. </li><li>Keep families informed about the progress of their child. </li><li>Support the inclusion of students in the CSD program within general education settings. </li><li>Support the implementation of high quality instructional materials in literacy and math for students in the CSD program. </li><li>Provide leadership and initiative for organizational improvements. </li><li>Oversee the program's curriculum alignment in accordance with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. </li><li>Oversee the implementation of all Everett Public Schools district policies. </li><li>Remain current on instructional methods, educational materials, and technology for improving the teaching and learning of all students. </li><li>Perform any other duties and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendents, and Principal. </li></ul> <p>GENERAL ADMINISTRATION:</p> <ul> <li>Adhere to all directives of the Superintendent of Schools, Deputy Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Principal. </li><li>Counsel building staff as required </li><li>Promote a healthy and safe environment. </li><li>Prepare letters, written reports, and make oral presentations regarding administrative activities. </li><li>Attend and participate in various professional and in-service meetings that enhance </li></ul> <p>the educational goals of the schools, as approved and directed by the Superintendent</p> <ul> <li>Supervise substitute procedures. </li><li>Maintain building inventories of educational materials, furniture, and equipment. </li></ul> <p>Salary:</p> <p>Salary for this position will be in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement</p> <p>between the Everett School
