<p>Position Title Stewardship Officer Position Type Admin/Professional Department Advancement Services Full or Part Time Full Time Pay Grade MN9</p> <p>Position Summary Information</p> <p>Department Specific Information</p> <p>Starting Salary Range: $53,650 - $63,486, commensurate with experience.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Stewardship Officer plays a vital role in strengthening relationships between NEOMED and its donors by developing and implementing thoughtful, strategic, and creative stewardship and recognition programs. This position ensures that donors and alumni feel appreciated, informed, and inspired by the tangible impact of their philanthropy on NEOMED's mission to create transformational leaders and improve health.</p> <p>Serving as a key liaison between the Advancement Division and current donors, the Stewardship Officer collaborates with Development Officers and colleagues across the university to craft personalized engagement and communication strategies that foster continued support and long-term investment in NEOMED's priorities.</p> <p>Principal Functional Responsibilities</p> <p>Donor Stewardship and Recognition:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement donor stewardship and recognition programs that express appreciation and demonstrate impact for donors at all giving levels. </li><li>Act as the primary liaison between the Advancement Division and current donors, ensuring timely communication, gratitude, and meaningful engagement. </li><li>Collaborate with Development Officers to design and execute stewardship strategies that align with donor intent and institutional goals. </li><li>Engage directly with donors to understand their interests, motivations, and priorities, ensuring their continued connection and satisfaction. </li><li>Manage stewardship activities for endowed funds, scholarships, faculty support, and capital projects, ensuring appropriate recognition and reporting. </li><li>Maintain detailed records of stewardship interactions and donor preferences in the university's advancement database. </li></ul> <p>Strategic Communication and Donor Engagement:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to support fundraising, donor stewardship, and alumni engagement efforts. </li><li>Align stewardship and communication plans with NEOMED's overarching advancement and campaign goals. </li><li>Write and produce high-quality communication materials that engage and inform donors and alumni about the outcomes of their giving. </li><li>Create donor proposals, reports, and case statements that clearly articulate NEOMED's mission, priorities, and the transformative impact of philanthropy. </li><li>Manage a focused portfolio of donors at the permanent stewardship stage, collaborating with development officers to sustain engagement and demonstrate impact. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration and Program Management:</p> <ul> <li>Work collaboratively with Advancement colleagues, academic leadership, and administrative partners to ensure consistency and excellence in all stewardship activities. </li><li>Support the planning and execution of donor and alumni recognition events </li><li>Contribute to the continuous improvement of stewardship processes, recognition systems, and communication standards across the division. </li><li>Utilize data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of stewardship programs and recommend enhancements. </li></ul> <p>Miscellaneous Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field </li><li>5 years of experience in a writing role such as stewardship, donor relations, or nonprofit management, preferably within higher education or a similar sector. </li><li>Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. </li><li>Ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content for various platforms. </li><li>Proven track record of developing and managing stewardship programs or donor engagement initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Experience in event planning and donor recognition strategies.</p> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment. Moderate travel may be required.
