<p>Who You Are</p> <p>You as a Quality Control Technical Advisor will help create the next generation of battery materials by performing analyses on production and research/development samples. In this role you will analyze test data, report test results, and communicate unexpected results. You will also serve as the team lead and communicate priorities and tasks to other members of the QC team. You will communicate with our manufacturing, engineering, and research teams to coordinate testing priorities. You are someone who can multi-task to complete different analytical tests each day.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties</p> <ul> <li>Perform analytical testing to support routine manufacturing, research and development activities, and method development initiatives </li><li>Prioritize incoming samples and tasks, and clearly communicate priorities to the quality control team </li><li>Act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams regarding sample requests, troubleshooting, and testing priorities </li><li>Lead regular quality meetings and team huddles to discuss updates, performance, and issues </li><li>Represent the quality control function in cross-departmental meetings related to production analytics and laboratory safety </li><li>Oversee assay control processes, including monitoring of quality trends and communicating findings to relevant teams </li><li>Coordinate and track preventive maintenance and calibration schedules for laboratory instruments </li><li>Prepare technical documentation and manage material release in the internal data management system </li><li>Monitor and report key performance indicators for the quality control team using internal tools </li><li>Proactively communicate any challenges, delays, or quality concerns to management and other relevant teams </li><li>Support continuous improvement of lab operations by maintaining and enhancing procedures, standards, and systems </li></ul> <p>Knowledge and Skill Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a relevant technical discipline preferred </li><li>10 years or more of laboratory experience in a research or manufacturing environment required </li><li>Prior experience with analytical instruments such as ICP-MS, SEM, XRF, and XRD is highly desirable. </li><li>Experience communicating priorities and leading work processes </li><li>Experience in performing routine analytical work efficiently, consistently, and with attention to detail </li><li>Experience in following and improving written procedures and documenting results in electronic systems </li><li>Experience in planning and prioritizing daily work activities, collaborating with team members / internal customers, and seeking guidance as needed </li><li>Experience in troubleshooting analytical instruments and escalating for help as needed </li><li>Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and drive improvement initiatives </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands and Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes </li><li>Move items up to 25 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts </li><li>Move long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time </li><li>Reach low shelves or items on the floor </li><li>Precise and repetitive handling of a range of material quantities </li><li>Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule</p> <p>Regular Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm</p> <p>The starting base pay for this role is between $47/hr and $59/hr at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila's competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, and equity. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
