The cover letter should address your specific interest in the position and outline skills and experience that directly relate to the position.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Sustainability, the Senior Manager of Energy Management will:</p> <ul> <li>Provide administrative, operational, and technical leadership for the Energy Management team. </li><li>Work closely with the Associate Director of Campus Sustainability to coordinate and direct the prioritization of energy reduction work across campus, aligning it with the campus-wide carbon neutrality transformation. </li><li>Manage approximately 10 full-time employees and several temporary student employees. </li><li>Manage a $1.7M annual budget used for energy conservation projects (energy conservation measures and building re-commissioning projects). </li><li>Provide leadership to drive energy conservation efforts in existing campus buildings in direct support of the overall sustainability goals of the University. To meet those objectives, foster collaboration with departments within Facilities & Operations (F&O) and other campus partners. </li><li>Manage contracts with external service providers that support the energy conservation work. </li></ul> <p>Who We Are</p> <p>The Office of Campus Sustainability serves as a focal point for sustainable campus operations. Our role is to:</p> <ul> <li>Lead, facilitate, and support operational sustainability programs and initiatives on the Ann Arbor campus, and facilitate the institutionalization of best practices in sustainability across academic and research units, auxiliary units, and student groups. </li><li>Provide technical and consultative guidance for operational sustainability on campus, including strategic planning, operational programming, and related campus-wide education and engagement. </li><li>Track and report progress toward U-M's sustainability goals. </li><li>Communicate with the campus and local community to increase awareness and engagement among staff, students, and faculty, with a focus on high-quality operational sustainability programs and building a culture of sustainability on campus. </li><li>The Office of Campus Sustainability is part of Planet Blue Campus, a university-wide initiative to promote sustainable operations and engagement. </li></ul> <p>The successful Senior Manager of Energy Management candidate will join a team of professionals dedicated to making the University of Michigan campus more sustainable.
