<p>THE POSITION</p> <p>Are you a highly organized and customer-focused individual ready to utilize your employment counseling skills? The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Dallas is seeking a dynamic Corrections Employment and Vocational Assistant. Our team helps prepare inmates for community reintegration by providing training and job skill development opportunities. If you want to make a positive difference in the lives of rehabilitating inmates, then we encourage you to apply today!</p> <p>DESCRIPTION OF WORK</p> <p>As a Corrections Employment and Vocational Assistant (CEVA), you will assist the Corrections Employment Vocational Coordinator (CEVC) in the management of employment and skill development experiences and provide employment counseling to inmates. You will conduct program orientation for new inmates, complete intake interviews, and coordinate work assignments and vocational training. You will also, monitor inmate payroll and compensation systems, audit inmate time and attendance records, and process closeouts for inmates leaving the institution. The role requires the ability to form effective working relationships and the desire to provide employment related counseling that will assist inmates adjusting to job challenges. In addition, you will maintain inmate work and training progress reports, serve as a consultant for reentry programs, and ensure compliance with agency payroll standards and regulations.</p> <p>Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.</p> <p>Work Schedule and Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week </li><li>Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. </li><li>This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. </li><li>Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. </li><li>Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes). </li><li>You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
