Learn more by visiting our website www.sosnc.gov.</p> <p> </p> <p>DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Administrative Specialist II (Document Examiner) supports the Business Registration Division within the Secretary of State's Office. The primary job functions include reviewing legal documents that have been submitted by corporations, limited partnerships, limited liability companies, and limited liability partnerships to make certain they are in compliance with the North Carolina General Statutes; making determinations whether these submissions should be accepted for filing; providing technical assistance and statutory guidance to the legal community, the banking community, and the general public by telephone, in writing, by email, and in person; performing data entry, access, and retrieval of corporate records by personal computer. The employee in this position must have an eye for detail and accuracy in their work. </p> <p>Management Preferences:</p> <ul> <li>Applicant must be proficient in MS Word and MS Excel (or similar software and systems). </li><li>Thorough knowledge of services, policies and procedures related to a program or area of specialization. </li><li>Ability to apply knowledge of data collection, storage, organization, manipulation and/or analysis of data. </li><li>Experience providing technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders. </li><li>Experience reviewing legal documents. </li></ul> <p>All applicants who are interviewed are required to complete a skills test.</p> <p>Some state job postings say you can qualify by an 'equivalent combination of education and experience.'
