<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Office of Strategy, Implementation, and Efficiency (OSIE) supports the delivery of strategic initiatives, performance tracking, and cross-divisional coordination across MassDOT. The Project Management Co-Op will assist in coordinating projects, tracking progress, and supporting day-to-day operational and project management activities.</p> <p>This co-op position is designed as a structured learning experience that provides hands-on exposure to public-sector project management, including project planning, stakeholder coordination, and performance tracking. The co-op will work closely with OSIE leadership and project managers on active transportation initiatives.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Support OSIE and project managers in tracking project milestones, schedules, and deliverables </li><li>Attend project meetings and prepare clear meeting summaries, notes, and action items </li><li>Assist in maintaining project documentation, dashboards, and status reports aligned with OSIE tracking practices </li><li>Conduct research and analysis on transportation projects, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements </li><li>Coordinate with internal staff across MassDOT divisions to gather updates and support cross-functional efforts </li><li>Assist with tracking materials, timelines, or other project-related logistics </li><li>Perform additional administrative or project support tasks as assigned </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) </li><li>Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability </li><li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively </li><li>Interest in project management, public service, or transportation systems </li></ul> <p>Learning Outcomes</p> <p>Through this role, the co-op will gain:</p> <ul> <li>Foundational knowledge of project management within a public infrastructure and strategy-focused environment </li><li>Experience supporting initiative tracking, performance reporting, and project coordination </li><li>Exposure to cross-functional collaboration across a large public sector organization </li><li>Practical experience using tools such as Excel, reporting trackers, and dashboards </li><li>Insight into transportation planning, policy, and strategic project delivery </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This position offers a hybrid work schedule, consisting of both in-office and remote workdays, subject to operational needs.</p> <p>About MassDOT</p> <p>The 4,000 employees of Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) takes great pride in connecting the Commonwealth's residents and communities.
