<p>Title: Dean of Humanities</p> <p>Employee Classification: Faculty</p> <p>Institution: Roane State Community College</p> <p>Department: Student Learning</p> <p>Campus Location:</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Provide leadership for the Humanities Division within the guidelines of the Tennessee Board of Regents and college policies and procedures.</p> <p>Provide leadership in support of the College's academic and workforce mission.</p> <p>This is a tenure track position.</p> <p>Roane State Community College is a multi-campus comprehensive community college serving an eight-county area in East Tennessee. Qualified applicants, including current employees, must apply for and submit a new application and resume (if required). Unofficial copies of transcripts/certificates must be included with the application, in order to be officially considered. Official copies of college transcripts required upon employment.</p> <p>Job Duties</p> <ul> <li>? Provide leadership for the Humanities Division within the guidelines of the Tennessee Board of Regents and college policies and procedures. ? Provide leadership in support of the College's academic and workforce mission. ? Oversee the College's theaters, TV Station, and Art Gallery ? Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the Humanities Division ? Coordinate and schedule the division curricular offerings. ? Prepare and manage the division workload. ? Assist in the resolution of student issues. ? Mentor new and tenure track faculty. ? Evaluate all faculty and division staff. ? Serve on various committees as needed. ? Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Earned doctorate from an accredited institution with at least 18 graduate hours in a discipline within the Humanities Division.</p> <p>Five (5) or more years of higher education teaching experience.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <p>Evidence of leadership skills.</p> <p>A commitment to effective strategies to facilitate student completion and success.</p> <p>Ability and commitment to working collaboratively within the unified TBR community college system.</p> <p>Ability and commitment to working collaboratively with faculty and college administration.</p> <p>Ability to manage the division workload including the use of adjunct faculty.</p> <p>Ability to communicate effectively.</p> <p>Ability to plan effectively.</p> <p>Ability to manage operating budget effectively.</p>
