<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Careers at DPH: Work that makes a difference!</p> <p>Embracing Service, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork, Pursuing Excellence, and Advancing Equity</p> <p>This position will be located at Camp Burnt Gin in Sumter County.</p> <p>Job Roles and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Responsible for serving on the camp leadership team which includes but not limited to.</p> <ul> <li>Assisting in the training of camp staff. </li><li>Providing leadership, supervision, and coaching to staff and evaluating them according to the schedule. </li><li>Assess their needs & assist in the coordination of pre-camp & in-service training. </li><li>Fill in for staff as needed & actively participate in activities. </li><li>Consult with staff in matters relating to campers. </li><li>Assist with staff & camper cabin assignments. </li></ul> <p>Assist in the planning and coordinating of the camp program which includes but not limited to.</p> <ul> <li>Development, implementation, and oversight of session themes and camp activities. </li><li>Review parent letters and provide feedback to staff. </li><li>Carry out administrative & program assignments. </li><li>Serve as a resource for programming skills & share in specific skill on occasion. </li><li>For Waterfront Coordinator position, oversee the operation of the camp aquatic programs. </li><li>Consult with the Camp Director & the Assistant Camp Director on matters which will affect staff, activities and general camp experiences. </li></ul> <p>Other responsibilities include but not limited to.</p> <ul> <li>Participating in camp leadership orientation/training. </li><li>Assist with the tasks required to open and close camp, and the daily activities required to maintain a clean facility. </li><li>Attend and facilitate staff meetings </li></ul> <p>Participate in all aspects of Camp Burnt Gin programing such as singing during mealtimes, morning motivation and movement, committee work, mid-morning activities, swimming and boating, and evening programs.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>Requirements to qualify for this position are:</p> <ul> <li>Must either be a at least 21 years old and/or a rising junior in college and must have at least one year of camping experience from Camp Burnt Gin. </li><li>Have knowledge of group dynamics, and able to teach, motivate, and supervise staff. </li><li>Must possess good problem solving & decision-making skills. </li><li>Be of good moral character, integrity, physical/mental health; enthusiastic; dedicated; possess a positive attitude; willing & able to be a positive role model. </li><li>Able to relate & work with other staff accept & respond to guidance & supervision. </li><li>The employee must be able to interact effectively with individuals and groups, respecting social and cultural diversity, and maintaining appropriate boundaries. </li><li>Have the ability to provide assistance with activities of daily living, and ability to lift and carry twenty-five (25) pounds. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <ul> <li>If you have any questions please contact Maggie Krueger at campburntgin@dph.sc.gov and/or (803)898-3948 </li><li>IMMUNIZATION: All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Pertussis, Varicella, and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment. </li><li>Normal Work Schedule: This position is located at Camp Burnt Gin in Sumter County and is a residential position. Because it is residential camp staff are required to live at camp while in session. Staff have scheduled days off in between the sessions. Workdays vary according to the summer schedule. </li></ul>
