<p>12 for Life Coordinator</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Director of CTAE</p> <p>JOB OBJECTIVES (Purpose of the position):</p> <p>To supervise and coordinate the 12 For Life Program for Carroll County Schools</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Functions essential to attaining job objectives):</p> <p>Strategic Goal Area I - Student Achievement</p> <ol> <li>Provide each shift of students with 30 minutes of instruction utilizing effective </li></ol> <p>instructional practices as outlined in the Carroll County Schools Teacher Job</p> <p>Description</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Maintain a database of information to identify each student's barriers to </li></ol> <p>graduation and devise a plan of action to address as many factors as possible,</p> <p>incorporating appropriate interventions including: approved online vendors,</p> <p>mentors, tutors, coordination of onsite course offerings, weekly monitoring of</p> <p>student progress at school</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Engage program instructors in cooperative planning for curriculum </li></ol> <p>implementation to ensure agreement on content and student performance</p> <p>measures</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Promote the use of technology to support instruction </li></ol> <p>Strategic Goal Area II - Stakeholder Engagement & Loyalty</p> <ol> <li>Work collaboratively with instructors, graduation coaches, Southwire personnel, </li></ol> <p>and parents to ensure student success</p> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Develop strategies to engage stakeholders in improvement processes</p> </li><li> <p>Work collaboratively with industry partners to develop student standards and</p> </li></ol> <p>guidelines for student participation in the Southwire 12 for Life program</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Communicate effectively with Southwire personnel in providing reports on </li></ol> <p>academic, testing, and projected graduation status of students, and an instructional</p> <p>program that complements and enhances the working environment</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Work collaboratively with the school system transportation department and </li></ol> <p>Southwire, including maintenance and delivery of student bus records</p> <p>Strategic Goal Area III - Efficient and Effective Organizational Processes</p> <ol> <li> <p>Maintain student advisement folders that include a six-year plan of study</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain daily lesson plans and attendance records</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise and enforce student attendance procedures according to school system</p> </li></ol> <p>and Southwire policies</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Supervise and enforce student behavior and adherence to school system and </li></ol> <p>Southwire discipline policies</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Work with high school counselors and graduation coaches to identify and enroll </li></ol> <p>students in the program</p> <ol start="6"> <li>Maintain a database of student applicants and coordinate a selection process </li></ol> <p>utilizing a selection committee and rubric</p> <ol start="7"> <li>Organize and oversee site-based summer school program, including course </li></ol> <p>offerings, instructional staffing, student registration, and record maintenance</p> <ol start="8"> <li> <p>Facilitate postsecondary placement of students</p> </li><li> <p>Develop action plans to address results of analyses of results of program</p> </li></ol> <p>initiatives</p> <ol start="10"> <li>Where applicable, use quantitative, qualitative, longitudinal, and action research </li></ol> <p>to analyze student performance data and improve program delivery</p> <ol start="11"> <li>Manage operations within the structure of Georgia public education rules, </li></ol> <p>regulations, laws, and the Georgia Code of Ethics for Educators</p> <ol start="12"> <li>Provide a curriculum that makes connections across subject areas taught at system </li></ol> <p>high schools</p> <ol start="13"> <li> <p>Establish a calendar for 12 for Life activities and events</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with Southwire to organize a safe and orderly learning environment,</p> </li></ol> <p>including facilities that reflect state, system, and local school rules, policies, and</p> <p>procedures</p> <ol start="15"> <li>Be familiar with the manufacturing processes at the 12 For Life facility and other </li></ol> <p>Southwire plants</p> <ol start="16"> <li> <p>Be familiar with all Southwire Company career opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>Represent and serve as a community spokesperson for the program</p> </li></ol> <p>Strategic Goal Area IV - Continuous System and School Improvement</p> <ol> <li>Recruit and recommend highly qualified and effective tutors and summer school </li></ol> <p>instructors</p> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Provide mentor training for Southwire employees</p> </li><li> <p>Provide training for instructors serving in the tutorial program</p> </li><li> <p>Work with Southwire personnel to develop, supervise, and schedule the work-</p> </li></ol> <p>based learning component of the program ensuring all local, state, and federal</p> <p>legal issues are addressed</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Recruit and recommend highly qualified and effective tutors and summer school </li></ol> <p>instructors</p> <ol start="6"> <li> <p>Enhance knowledge and skills through professional learning</p> </li><li> <p>Any additional duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the CTAE Director</p> </li></ol> <p>OTHER EXPECTATIONS</p> <ol> <li> <p>Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance/timelines</p> </li><li> <p>Complete assignments and requirements on time and in compliance with</p> </li></ol> <p>directions</p> <ol start="4"> <li> <p>Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records and file reports promptly</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain confidentiality of information and records for students and staff</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate effectively with students, peers, administration, parents and public</p> </li><li> <p>Exhibit pleasant behavior and project a positive image when dealing with</p> </li></ol> <p>students, peers, administration, parents and public</p> <ol start="8"> <li>Follow and enforce regulations concerning student conduct, discipline and </li></ol> <p>attendance</p> <p>JOB STANDARDS (Minimum qualifications needed to perform essential job functions):</p> <ol> <li>Valid Georgia professional certification in Diversified Cooperating Training </li></ol> <p>(DCT) or completion of Work-Based Learning/Youth Apprenticeship Coordinator</p> <p>Training</p> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Desire a minimum of 3 years experience in business or industry</p> </li><li> <p>Effective written and verbal communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with others</p> </li></ol> <p>JOB LOCATION (Place(s) where work is performed):</p> <p>Southwire Company facility and /or other appropriate facility</p> <p>FLSA: Exempt</p> <p>Name of Evaluation instrument used for this job description:</p> <p>Carroll County Leadership Annual Evaluation or Leader Keys</p> <p>03/14/2011: Date job description approved by the board of education</p> <p>03/14/2011: Date evaluation instrument reviewed by the board of education</p>
