<p>Job Goal: Looking for an opportunity to support middle school youth in a hands-on, differentiated, project-based robotics program? Our Middle Grades Robotics Summer Program is an innovative collaboration with the Somerville High School Robotics Team, supported by the Somerville Public Schools. We are looking for teachers to inspire students to learn about engineering and robotics, by teaching one class of 15-20 middle grades students. Duties include taking attendance, communicating with families, redirecting behaviors in a positive and supportive way, and assisting with additional tasks as needed.</p> <p>This position works in close collaboration with the Summer Robotics Program Coordinator, Somerville High School Fab Lab Manager, SPELL Administration and Summer Middle Grades Robotics High School Youth Mentors.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach a group of 15-20 students in grades 5-9 about LEGO robotics engineering </li><li>Work collaboratively with SHS Robotics Youth Mentors </li><li>Willingness to learn and jump in enthusiastically </li><li>Be able to quickly build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff </li><li>Excited to serve as a role model for youth </li><li>Must be available Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11, and Monday, July 21 through Friday July 25, 2024.
