<p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Designs the individual parts and assemblies of a rotating machine in order to meet the customer requirements and targeted performances with support from a lead engineer or equivalent. </li><li>Develops CAD models and 2D drawings, conduct analysis necessary for the design effort of the rotating machine and associated parts: tolerance stack-up, bearing load and pre-load calculations, etc. </li><li>Ensures designs is in accordnace with the SAFRAN and industry standards including but not limited to GD&T, design for manufacturing. </li><li>Acts as a peer reviewer and supports and participates in technical reviews (design, manufacturing, test, etc.) </li><li>Adheres to and follow the budget and schedule provdided by the business </li><li>Reviews customer specifications and supports technical proposals, cost estimates, test procedures and specifications, process qualification procedures, status reports, technical reports, and schedules as needed. </li><li>Initiates actions to solve problems for ongoing products or for new product designs and propose cost reductions </li><li>Communicates openly and transparently to peers and management on design progress and on any difficulties or risks in order to address them as early as possible in the development </li><li>Provide assistance and support testing of new and legacy products with guidance from a lead engineer </li><li>Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental programs and culture </li><li>Travel requirements: Occasional travel (general guideline, once per quarter) within the U.S./Outside the U.S. </li><li>Evening/night hours may be required </li><li>Extra hours may be required during business peaks Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent </li><li>Minimum of four (4) years mechanical engineering experience in a new product design and manufacturing environment </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated skills in design principles, creating and interpreting blueprints, drawings including GD&T and process documents </li><li>Demonstrated problem solving and reporting skills </li><li>Experience in CAD (preferred SolidWorks) and 2D drawings </li><li>Proficient in MS Office </li><li>Experience with basic tooling including measuring equipments </li><li>Ability to work with individuals/teams at all levels within the organization and with customers </li></ul>
