<p>POSITION: Music Lead Teacher Grades 6-12 (1)</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree and content certification required</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Building Principals and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Building Principals and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction the lead teacher shall: Provide leadership with the implementation, coordination and organization of the Grades 6-12 Music Department curriculum. Communicate with administrators regarding departmental teachers questions and/or concerns regarding program implementation. Facilitate PLCs and departmental meetings and also coordinate activities among teachers in the Grades 6-12 Music Department. Work with the Building Principals and Director of Curriculum and Instruction to make specific recommendations regarding implementation of Gr. 6-12 Music programs including specific recommendations for instructional improvements. Support the development, articulation and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and content. Assist in orienting new teachers in the department, assist in assigning mentors to new teachers Recommend equipment and materials in sufficient quantity to encourage optimal learning conditions for students; prepare a budget to order these materials and supplies. Assist the administration in the placement of student teachers. Recommend training for members of the department, as may be necessary, and assist in the content specific activities and goals in developing Educator Plans, Directed Growth Plans, and Improvement Plans with content specific recommendations. Attend meetings outside of the regular work day as required. May be directed to play a role in interviewing candidates for teaching positions. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Principals or the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Must be available after the school day Part-time employment</p> <p>SALARY Stipend in Accordance with the Unit A Contract</p> <p>DATES OF EMPLOYMENT Start Date: Immediately End Date: June 30, 2025</p> <p>EVALUATION Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committee's policy on evaluation.</p>
