<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by contacting and cultivating prospective students and applicants; provides supervision to other members of the admissions team and/or to critical processes necessary within the cultivation and recruitment of an incoming class.</p> <p>Salary: $55,000/year or more depending on experience.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Supervises critical processes within application recruitment, management and enrollment of the inbound class. </li><li>Promotes communication plans with counselors to maximize the efficacy of the daily outreach plan. </li><li>Sets and manages productivity standards and goals for the admissions team. </li><li>Supervises, trains, and evaluates up to two-three admission staff members, and student workers. </li><li>Troubleshoots any issues that may arise on a daily basis, university travel, and during special visitation events. </li><li>Maintains the highest standards of customer service, confirming that all staff members are providing accurate, timely and useful information to prospective students, families, and members of the university community. </li><li>Supervises of a caseload of 350-500 prospective students. </li><li>Maintains communication with all students, on a bi-weekly or monthly basis by utilizing various communication methods including, but not limited to: phone calls, emails, and text messages. </li><li>Manages applications to include gathering information for incomplete files; preparing completed applications; making decisions on student applicants and cultivating applicants from a specific geographic location. </li><li>Communicates with students and families about the various aspects of the college search/decision process including, but not limited to: financial aid, billing, academics, lifestyle, athletics, and student interest clubs. </li><li>Develops strong relationships with prospective students and their families throughout the admission cycle including personal communication in a written and electronic format, phone calls and personal interaction as necessary. </li><li>Counsels and advises students about financial aid eligibility, financial aid application procedures, aid programs, costs, and indebtedness. </li><li>Ensures that all visiting students and families have a pleasant and informative visit to campus by supporting the success of various student-visit programs through conducting information sessions, campus tours, one-on-one interviews, virtual events, and collaborating with a wide variety of departments and offices across campus. </li><li>Represents the University at on and off-campus events including open houses, regional events, and academic showcases and strategic high school visits. </li><li>Plans and executes travel in select geographic areas; to include college fairs, classroom presentations and individual meetings with applicants, often including some nights and weekends. </li><li>Develops and manages a marketing plan based on geographic territories and specific academic programs. </li></ul> <p>Other Functions</p> <ul> <li>Assesses the performance of direct reports and provides frequent feedback to optimize their performance. </li><li>Maintains confidentiality of sensitive or private information. </li><li>Communicates with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner. </li><li>Serves on University committees, councils, workgroups or other designated bodies as assigned. </li><li>Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software. </li><li>Speaks, reads and writes in English. </li><li>Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device. </li><li>Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. Additional Admissions/Recruitment experience may substitute for completed degree. </li><li>3 years Admissions/Recruitment experience preferred. Experience in a progressive management or leadership role. </li><li>Understanding of best practices in enrollment and recruiting. </li><li>Supervisory experience preferred </li><li>Military experience, military school experience or ROTC experience(s) a plus, but not required </li><li>A valid driver's license is required </li><li>Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook); experience with Banner and Slate preferred </li><li>Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 20 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus </li><li>Schedule will include some evening or weekend hours </li><li>Travel as needed (public or private transportation) </li></ul> <p>Environmental Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Indoor work at a computer workstation </li><li>Low level of exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Norwich University is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing a positive education and work environment that recognizes and respects the dignity of all students, faculty and staff.
