Serve as a resource and support, working collaboratively within Student Affairs to ensure optimization of veteran student success, retention, and well-being.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Program robust student success focused programming and oversee the administration of the VSC for UW student veterans. </li><li>Develop trainings, presentations, and programs to educate campus and community partners on veteran students, services of the VSC, and navigating military-connected educational benefits. </li><li>Develop and maintain external relationships with military families, dignitaries, Wyoming Veterans Affairs Dept., and community partners for continued support of the VSC services and representation. </li><li>Collaborate with campus partners to enhance the veteran student experience, including but not limited to orientation programming, transfer students, graduation, roll call, military appreciation events, and more. </li><li>Conduct regular assessment and evaluation of programs, student learning, and employees. Participate in Union-related events, meetings, trainings, and programs. </li><li>Direct and supervise the project personnel functions including hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of staff. </li></ul> <p>SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Represent the department on University or division/college committees, as directed. </li><li>May perform additional special assignments. </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES:</p> <ul> <li>Collaboration </li><li>Developing Organizational Talent </li><li>Formal Presentation Skills </li><li>Individual Leadership </li><li>Innovation </li><li>Judgment </li><li>Quality Orientation </li><li>Work Prioritization & Management </li></ul> <p>REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:</p> <p>This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.</p> <p>The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States. Sponsorship for H-1B work authorization or work visa is not available for this position.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3 years work-related experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience</p> <p>Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy. </li></ul> <p>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Experience supervising professional and student staff </li><li>Proven experience navigating higher education and government policy </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with division and campus partners </li><li>Understanding of current veteran student needs </li><li>Familiarity with initiatives, programs, and services to support veteran students </li><li>Proven experience serving as a mentor to support development </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED MATERIALS:</p> <p>Complete the online application and upload the following for a complete application: cover letter, resume or C.V. and contact information for four work-related references.</p> <p>This position will remain open until filled.
