<p>Job Title</p> <p>Database Administrator</p> <ul> <li>All CVs must be submitted in English </li></ul> <p>Location: Bogota</p> <p>Job: Database Administrator (All Levels)</p> <p>About Your Business Area/Department:</p> <p>Managing technology for an online travel agency or airline is demanding, but supporting the system behind 150+ airlines, hundreds of websites, airports, and thousands of hotels adds even greater complexity. Amadeus handles over 17,000 transactions per second at peak times (more than 1 billion daily) with average response times under 0.3 seconds.</p> <p>The DBaaS (Database-as-a-Service) team delivers database administration and operational support across Amadeus applications globally.</p> <p>Summary of the role:</p> <p>The Database Administrator will assist the database operations team in the implementation, configuration, security, maintenance, and performance tuning/monitoring of the Amadeus database tier as assigned. The focus of this role is to ensure the availability and performance of existing and future enterprise applications, through the use of database technology.</p> <p>You will partner closely with cross-functional teams that include Development, Product and Architecture, to ensure delivery of our applications at the highest level of quality and performance.</p> <p>In this role you'll:</p> <ul> <li>Plan and deploy database clusters for multi-terabyte workloads, focusing on high-availability and fault-tolerance (including multi-site HA). </li><li>Ensure storage, archiving, backup, and recovery procedures are operating correctly, including disaster recovery. </li><li>Maintain & upgrade database clusters, to comply with appropriate patch level, kernel patching and security standards </li><li>(PCIDSS / SOC / ISO27K). </li><li>Monitor performance and tune database parameters for optimal experience. </li><li>Investigate incidents, debug problems, and provide recovery solutions in 24x7 operations. </li><li>Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from development to critical Production systems. </li><li>Operate databases both on-premises and on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. </li><li>Participate in the on-call roster. </li><li>Write and maintain documentation and procedural descriptions. </li><li>Collaborate with development and product management for continuous improvement of Oracle automation and ecosystem. </li></ul> <p>About the ideal candidate:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
