<p>Reading Interventionist (Literacy Learning Specialist) JobID: 1820</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Elementary School Teaching Grades 1-6/Reading Resource</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>7/10/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Hawthorne Elementary School</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Open until filled</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Vacancy for the 2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.</p> </li><li> <p>New Jersey Department of Education Permanent Teacher's Certificate.</p> </li><li> <p>New Jersey Special Education Teaching Certificate and/or Reading Specialists Certificate, Teacher of Reading, or Teacher of Supplemental Reading and Math Certificate</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred: Masters of Education</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Possession of a driver's license, valid in New Jersey, only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with high needs students with proven results</p> </li><li> <p>Two letters of recommendation, which should include one (1) from a current principal or supervisor.</p> </li></ol> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Works directly with students to reach mastery with district assigned resources and support.</p> </li><li> <p>Works within district data cycles to maintain flexible grouping for Tier III students with a specific learning disability as outlined in the students IEP.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides coaching and support to teachers around literacy instructional practices using the district's coaching protocols.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides school based professional development or leads PLC in collaboration with the Lead Educator as directed.</p> </li><li> <p>Supports academic conversations at I&RST meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates/collaborates with parents and classroom teachers regarding accurate and current student level data.</p> </li><li> <p>Supports students with academic challenges in a Special Education education setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Designs and implements academic interventions using research-based methodology in Reading and/or Math.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates high levels of professional conduct and exemplary teaching of individuals and small group instruction that result in high levels of student learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides data-drive instruction for Math/LAL for all K-8 students during the school day. (This could be done through small group instruction, both in and out of the classroom with flexible grouping.)</p> </li><li> <p>Analyze student achievement data to determine target interventions and the development of materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and/or coordinates the development of exemplary unit plan materials including high quality sequences for each unit, teaching tools for each standard, and additional teaching materials for teacher use and student practice.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates with school personnel and parents/guardians of students regarding reading and/or math levels.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties consistent with specific contractual terms of employment, as assigned by appropriate staff.</p> </li></ol> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>WEA Staff, 10 Months</p> <p>Salary Range: $58,896.00 -$98,636.00</p> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Apply Online</p>
