<p>The City of Pasadena is looking for a Building Inspector II to perform field inspections of residential, mulit-family, and minor commercial buildings and structures, and their electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems to verify compliance with state and local building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and zoning codes and ordinances.</p> <p>   </p> <p>IDEAL CANDIDATE</p> <p> The ideal candidate has experience in conducting building inspections for a governmental jurisdiction, inspecting architectural, structural, and accessibility compliance for commercial and residential occupancies;  has the ability to work in a lead capacity, is detail-oriented, dependable, and has excellent decision-making ability. The candidate should be thoroughly familiar with the California Building Code Standards (Title-24 of the California Code of Regulations and Cal Green standards) and construction methods for a variety of construction types. Ability to read, interpret, and apply general and detailed information on design and construction plans, calculations, and reports. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and thorough knowledge of the principles, methods and safety hazards related to conducting building inspections. For more detailed information, please review the job description.</p> <ul> <li>Interprets plans and specifications and makes field inspections of residential, including multi-family residential, commercial buildings and structures to verify that construction, alterations, or repairs are being performed according to approved building plans and specifications and in compliance with building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and zoning codes and relevant ordinances. </li><li>Performs investigations of violations and prepares reports of findings; makes appropriate recommendations. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
