<p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high quality youth and sports programs. The Sports and Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and managing high quality youth, teen and Adult Sports and Enrichment programs.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill the YMCA objectives. </li><li>Teaches sports or enrichment programs, classes, clinics, assists in leagues and runs youth programs. </li><li>With the guidance of the Regional Sports Director, assists in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing schedules and directs staff and volunteers as needed. </li><li>Maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. </li><li>Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. In coordination with the Regional Sports Director, responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. </li><li>Develops and monitors programs and supervises Sports/Enrichment staff. Have rosters ready for programming. </li><li>Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs. </li><li>Coordinates, use of facilities and staff program activities such as indoor and outdoor programs in collaboration with other departments and community partners. </li><li>Assists in YMCA annual supports, fundraising activities and special events. </li><li>Monitors inventory of supplies and notifies the Regional Sports Director of program supplies needed. </li><li>Transports and sets up equipment for games and practices; monitors and purchases necessary sporting equipment as budget permits. </li><li>1 Manager on Duty shift throughout the week and select weekends determined by the ED. </li><li>Develop, implement and supervise youth, teen and adult sport programs and leagues. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Associates degree in related field or equivalent and/or Bachelor's degree preferred. </li><li>Two to Five years related experience preferred. </li><li>Previous YMCA experience preferred. </li><li>Available to work nights and weekends required. </li><li>Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers. </li><li>CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens. </li><li>Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications. </li><li>Adheres to the YMCA of Pawtucket code of conduct, policies and procedures. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
