<p>Overview</p> <ul> <li>Strong Internal Candidate Identified* </li></ul> <p>Assists with the overall direction, operations, and performance of the DH Southern Region Laboratories in the Department of Pathology. Plans, organizes, and manages section activities and personnel.</p> <p>This is a full-time, 40-hour/week day-shift position. This position requires performing work at our locations in Southern New Hampshire, including Concord, Manchester, and Nashua.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Assists with the supervision of laboratory staff Assists with functions within lab through various means and practices, including, but not limited to, reviewing and maintaining section's operations to ensure an effective and efficient processing and reporting of workload, scheduling section workflow - adjusting staffing coverage to meet demands, evaluating the performance of section staff, seeking and providing avenues for them to upgrade their job skills, etc. Documents, implements, and maintains standard laboratory procedures for the lab, ensuring compliance with the CAP accreditation guidelines. Ensures high-quality test results through hospital and section quality assurance activities. Ensures the safety and security of property and section personnel. Responsible for the overall teaching program in the labs. Oversees technological improvements, validations, proper utilization and maintenance of equipment, and development of new test procedures in a specialized area. Ensures that managerial policies, practices, and objectives of the department are achieved within the lab. Assists in preparing, implementing, and monitoring the annual budget for equipment, supplies, and personnel. Assists in quality improvement program. Performs other duties as required or assigned.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>5 years of laboratory experience including 2 years in a supervisory or lead position. </li><li>Master's degree preferred. </li><li>Familiarity with regulatory agencies affecting laboratories required. </li><li>CPT & ICD-9 coding experience and Medicare reimbursement knowledge desired. </li></ul> <p>Required Licensure/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>5 years of laboratory experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or lead position </li><li>Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT - AMT) or Molecular Diagnostics Technologist (MDxT) or International Technologist in Blood Banking (BB - ASCP) or International Technologist in Chemistry (C - ASCP) or International Technologist in Microbiology (M - ASCP) or International Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB - ASCP) or Specialist in Chemistry (SC - ASCP) or International Specialist in Hematology (SH - ASCP) or International Specialist in Microbiology (SM - ASCP) </li></ul>
