We ensure that their gifts transform the lives of those suffering from blindness, and advance new treatments and cures for blindness.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Eversight's Tissue Recovery Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the Tissue Recovery department in accordance with Eversight and EBAA Medical Standards and in full compliance with state and federal regulations.</p> <p>Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Exempt</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Ensures all processes are conducted within the standards, policies, procedures and protocols established by Eversight and EBAA Medical Standards, as well as other regulatory agencies. </li><li>Identifies process improvement opportunities in all Recovery affiliated functions. Lead the development and implementation of new or revised processes. </li><li>Tracks employee proficiency in meeting competency markers and conduct regular competency reviews for all clinical staff. </li><li>Coordinates inter and intradepartmental in-service opportunities and serves as a resource and subject matter expert on these skills. </li><li>Participates in the Quality Improvement Program by proactively identifying, testing and implementing process/outcome improvement opportunities. </li><li>Maintains professional relationships with physicians, their staff, hospital/surgical center staff, peers, other eye banks, and other agencies. </li><li>Prepares and manages department budget. Report on variances, as required. </li><li>Performs frontline department responsibilities as needed, including weekend and on-call functions. </li><li>Assists in developing research protocols related to tissue recovery. </li><li>Observes strict confidentiality of donor and recipient information. </li><li>Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional organizations, etc. </li><li>Competently performs all department duties to include providing weekend coverage and work on-call shifts as needed. </li><li>Leads team effectively by demonstrating Eversight's Frontline Leadership Competencies, and performs leadership activities of: performance management and coaching, training and development, expectation and priority setting, workflow management, hiring and retention, and corrective action. </li><li>Demonstrates a commitment to the Mission and Values of Eversight. </li><li>Other Duties: New tasks, duties and responsibilities may be added at any time, with or without notice to the employee. Eye banking certification (CEBT) preferred or the ability to attain the certification.</p> <p>Experience: Previous supervisory experience in a clinical setting.</p> <p>Skills: Strong communication and organizational skill. Ability to effectively plan and execute complex tasks. Ability to interact professionally with peers and healthcare staff. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.</p> <p>Knowledge: Proficiency in technical procedures after appropriate training as needed. Routine use of computer, cell phone and fax. Limited noise, room temperature fluctuation and dust are possible.</p> <p>For clinical functions: Work is performed in a laboratory setting or a patient care setting, such as a hospital operating room or morgue, with potential exposure to communicable diseases or hazardous materials. Turning of a donor of up to 400 pounds, pushing a stretcher/morgue cart with a body of up to that weight and/or lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required. Time is spent sitting for long periods of time, as well as standing and walking. Simultaneous use of both hands is required. Movements such as balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and bending are sometimes required. Audio, visual and verbal functions are vital aspects of this position. Limited noise, room temperature fluctuation and dust are possible. Routine use of computer.
