As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.</p> <p>Job responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead a team of 6-8 engineers with a strong focus on Java and AWS technologies, ensuring effective collaboration and communication </li><li>Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems </li><li>Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others for quality assurance. </li><li>Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems </li><li>Leads evaluation sessions with external partners and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture </li><li>Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies </li><li>Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect </li></ul> <p>Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills</p> <ul> <li>Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience </li><li>Hands on experience with Java,J2EE, Sprint/Spring boot, AWS services, including ECS, EKS, S3, SQS, Lambda, EventBridge, SNS and related technologies </li><li>Strong familiarities with micro-service designs and proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle </li><li>Deep technical knowledge of utilizing frameworks to deliver applications, and being able to dive deep into code implementations </li><li>Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability </li><li>Advanced understanding of agile methodologies </li><li>Proficient in implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices to streamline software development processes, enhance collaboration, and ensure rapid delivery of high-quality software products. </li><li>Skilled in designing and developing applications with robust resiliency features, ensuring they can withstand and recover from failures, maintain availability, and provide consistent performance under varying conditions. </li><li>Proficient in integrating security measures within the software development lifecycle, including threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and implementing best practices to safeguard applications against potential security threats and breaches. </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills</p> <ul> <li>AWS Developer or Architect Certifications </li><li>6+ Years of Java development experience </li><li>In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems </li><li>Experience with distributed streaming platform (Kafka) </li><li>Proficiency in databases like Oracle and Cassandra(any other no sql database). </li><li>Expertise in using monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana and creating dashboards and alerts using these </li></ul>
