This is our company ethos, but it's our people's too: Refresco is at the cutting edge of a fast-moving industry because we have passionate people pushing the boundaries of what's best.</p> <p>Stop and think: how would YOU put our drinks on every table?</p> <p>Position Description</p> <p>Reporting to the Sr. Director of H & S, the Director of Environmental provides leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to ensure a compliant work environment across Refresco Beverages' North American Business Units, comprising 29+ manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Serving as a subject matter expert, this role oversees the development and implementation of wastewater, air, storm water, surface and well water, and hazardous waste programs while driving strategic initiatives to mitigate risks, reduce liabilities, and control costs. Key responsibilities include establishing compliance frameworks, conducting audits to improve adherence to standards and managing the environmental management system.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, state agencies). </li><li>Oversee environmental permits (air, water, waste) and ensure timely renewals and reporting. </li><li>Manage required environmental reporting (e.g., Tier II, TRI, NPDES, SPCC, stormwater, hazardous waste manifests). </li><li>Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact. </li><li>Lead spill response efforts and ensure compliance with SPCC (Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure) plans. </li><li>Ensure compliance with Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act regulations. </li><li>Oversee emissions monitoring, control measures, and air permit requirements. </li><li>Manage stormwater and wastewater discharge compliance. </li><li>Work with corporate leadership to align environmental strategies with business goals. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills:</p> <ul> <li>10+ years Management experience applying environmental programs in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience preferred. Experience supporting environmental in multi-site locations, including strategy and implementation. </li><li>Environmental or chemical engineering degree required. </li><li>Experience with hazardous waste regulations. </li><li>Ability to research and apply regulations. </li><li>Ability to handle confidential information appropriately is imperative. </li><li>Proven ability to develop environmental as part of the company culture. </li><li>Strong analytical skills and the ability to propose solutions to problems. </li><li>Ability to positively and comfortably handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing, high-growth work environment with focused attention for detail. </li><li>Must be able to travel, work in a team environment, work a flexible schedule as required, and adhere to and explain Refresco policies and procedures. </li><li>Ability to uphold environmental standards, participate in Continuous Process Improvement on the job, and follow our Manufacturing best practices. </li><li>Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions. </li><li>Ability to be on call 24/7 for emergencies. </li></ul> <p>Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Leadership - Foster a culture of empowerment by building relationships based on trust, lead courageously on a day-to-day basis, and inspire growth with a clear and ambitious vision that guides the collective effort toward success. </li><li>Business Acumen and Data Literacy - Communicates in organization-specific language and has a good understanding of industry-specific terms. Ensures others are supported in adapting to change. Listen and respond to feedback regarding change and uncertainty. Anticipates and mitigates obstacles, risks, and business disruptions caused by change initiatives. </li><li>Influence and Relationship building - Demonstrates the ability to draw on trusting relationships to garner support for ideas and action. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>10+ years Management experience applying environmental programs in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience preferred. Experience supporting environmental in multi-site locations, including strategy and implementation. </li><li>Environmental or chemical engineering degree required. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Physical - Working at a desk, attending meetings, or using a computer for extended periods of time. Occasionally moving around an office, facility, or attending on-site inspections. Long hours. Continuously standing or walking. Regular requirements to lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight. </li><li>Environment- Work and environment are very repetitive. May require wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE). </li></ul> <p>Travel Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Travel will be variable based on project timing and workload.
