<p>Teacher - Juvenile Crisis & Assessment Center</p> <p>Kinston, NC</p> <p>Methodist Home for Children is hiring a Teacher for our Eastern Area Juvenile Crisis & Assessment Center in Kinston. If you're an experienced middle or high school educator who believes in second chances and individualized learning, this is your opportunity to make a life-changing impact.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li> <p>Plan and deliver flexible, innovative instruction tailored to each youth's academic level and needs</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize both traditional and technology-based learning tools</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare detailed lesson plans and maintain accurate records of attendance, academic progress, and social performance</p> </li><li> <p>Provide official transcripts of work completed during residency</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with residential staff to support individualized treatment plans and promote academic success within a therapeutic setting</p> </li></ul> <p>Youth reside at the Center for approximately 4-6 weeks, so your ability to assess quickly, adapt instruction, and build rapport matters.</p> <p>What We're Looking For</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience (middle and/or high school)</p> </li><li> <p>Valid North Carolina teaching certification preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for working with at-risk youth</p> </li></ul> <p>Who We Are</p> <p>Operated by Methodist Home for Children in partnership with the Department of Public Safety, our residential assessment center serves up to 12 Level II youth (ages 10-17) at a time.
