<p>Director, Advanced Battery Systems</p> <p>Concorde Battery Corporation is a manufacturer of specialty lead-acid batteries and the leading producer of lead-acid batteries for aircraft. Our other products include batteries for Marine, RV, and Photovoltaic Systems. We've been in business for over 45 years and continue to grow to meet the needs of our customers. People are the most important component to the success of a company and Concorde is fortunate to have a staff with over 150 years of battery manufacturing, designing, and aircraft system experience.</p> <p>Concorde Battery Corporation is currently looking for a driven candidate to work on lithium-ion aircraft battery development. The successful candidate will be responsible for several areas of lithium-ion development, from R&D to production support. The Director of Advanced Battery Systems reports directly to the VP of Engineering.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, qualify, launch, and provide production support of lithium-ion aircraft batteries (LIABs). </li><li>Optimize existing BMS designs and take the lead in getting LIABs approved by military and civil authorities. </li><li>Work with other departments at Concorde (Sales and Marketing, Quality, Purchasing, Production) to assure smooth transition from R&D to full production. </li><li>Take the lead for ordering, installing and commissioning test equipment for acceptance testing of BMS boards and LIABs. </li><li>Prepare detailed test instructions for acceptance testing and troubleshooting of BMS boards and LIABs. </li><li>Work with customers to integrate LIABs into various aircraft platforms, for both military and commercial aviation applications. </li><li>Provide technical support to customers as issues arise with LIABs. </li><li>Design and develop electronic devices/modules for aircraft applications. Examples include battery chargers, change/discharge limiters, built-in-test (BIT) circuits, and data collection modules. These electronic devices/modules may interface with both lead-acid and lithium-ion battery types. </li><li>Provide technical support related to lead-acid battery products as time permits. </li><li>Comply with all safety requirements; participate in safety training/practices. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 10 years' experience in electronic hardware and software design, development, prototyping, and testing. </li><li>Must have a degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. </li><li>Experience with Lithium-ion batteries and battery management systems (BMS) is essential. </li><li>Experience with DO-178 software certification, DO-254 hardware certification and FAR 1309 safety assessments is preferred. </li><li>Experience with lead-acid batteries and battery charging systems is beneficial. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work in team-based environments. </li><li>Software experience; Excel, Word, Power Point, etc. </li></ul> <p>Perks and Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Desired first shift schedule </li><li>Premium Health Insurance - $0 employee premium & $0 deductible </li><li>Company provided life insurance for all employees with $0 employee contribution </li><li>Dental </li><li>10 paid holidays </li><li>5 paid sick days </li><li>Accrued vacation </li><li>401(k) </li><li>Profit Sharing </li></ul>
