City of Hope's growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and cancer treatment centers and outpatient facilities in the Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix areas.</p> <p>The successful candidate:</p> <p>Schedule</p> <ul> <li> <p>Monday - Friday</p> </li><li> <p>8:30 AM - 5:00 PM</p> </li></ul> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>The Laboratory Assistant - Pathology is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory activities in compliance with applicable federal, state, and regulatory agency requirements. This role tracks laboratory orders, accessions, and processes surgical and cytology specimens. Assists with frozen section preparation and interventional radiology sample processing, including staining and accessioning. Processes biorepository samples and maintains inventory within designated applications. Maintains pathology and biorepository equipment. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Department Director and Supervisor, including supporting decision-making and troubleshooting activities.</p> <p>Position Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required </li></ul> <p>Minimum Experience:</p> <ul> <li>1-3 years of experience working in a laboratory setting required; Pathology experience highly preferred </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree preferred </li></ul> <p>Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Professional demeanor with effective collaboration and communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work effectively with coworkers, nursing staff, medical staff, and physicians</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational, prioritization, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills</p> </li></ul> <p>Software</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) </li></ul> <p>City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.</p> <p>To learn more about our comprehensive benefits, click here: Benefits Information</p> <p>City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.</p>
