The position would support the study for approximately 4 months with the possibility of extending if there are continued study needs. This position will support multiple ongoing research studies centered around the prevention of skin cancer in different Utah populations. This position will provide up to 19 hours/week of work on the RAYS Study (Rural Adult and Youth Sports Protection Study) focused on skin cancer prevention in youth sports teams throughout the state of Utah.</p> <p>The Research Assistant/Analyst will support study activities including organizing and managing study data in compliance with IRB-approved protocols, preparing materials for study visits, assisting with educational intervention sessions, and maintaining accurate participant records while monitoring study progress. It is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Research Assistant responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Developing and revising study protocols to ensure clarity and participant safety </li><li>Travel to communities enrolled in the RAYS project for data collection. </li><li>Establishing trusting and collaborative relationships with stakeholders and study participants </li><li>Preparation of materials and staff for study visits, including traveling to rural counties for data collection </li><li>Utilizing a structured protocol to lead activities for skin cancer prevention and collect survey data from participants </li><li>Documenting activities and outcomes in appropriate databases </li><li>Compiling reports summarizing study progress </li><li>Running basic statistical analyses (e.g., descriptives) to characterize study samples and intervention effects </li><li>Qualitative interviewing and coding interview data </li><li>Attending team meetings to discuss progress, successes, and challenges </li><li>Participating in ongoing training to maintain fidelity to protocols and other research required training </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required</p> <p>Nearly Continuously: Office environment.</p> <p>Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required</p> <p>Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking.Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a field related to the area of research, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required..</p> <p>This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
