As an Engineer-In-Training for Roadway, you will support various transportation projects.</p> <p>What are the core responsibilities for the role?</p> <ul> <li>Support Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects </li><li>Perform civil engineering design and associated calculations and interpret plans from other engineering-related disciplines </li><li>Apply technical expertise and be able to work with a project team on conventional and unconventional projects </li><li>Perform independent research and delegate changing priorities </li><li>Adhere to Horrocks safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment </li><li>Work in a collaborative team environment and deliver accurate work that is error-free </li><li>Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity </li></ul> <p>Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Have a strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines </li><li>Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers </li><li>Be able to develop designs and documentation using MicroStation ORD or Autodesk Civil 3D or other design software (MicroStation ORD is preferred) </li><li>Manage project data files from various sources </li><li>Be proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and virtually/remotely </li><li>Ability to travel and perform fieldwork on occasion </li><li>B.S. in Civil Engineering - EIT </li><li>2-4+ years of experience in civil design is preferred. Entry-level candidates will be considered </li><li>Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam </li><li>Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities </li></ul> <p>Why would a candidate want this job?</p> <p>At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
