<p>If you are looking to grow your career in Utilities Maintenance, Pinellas County Government will keep you on track. The Utilities Operations Specialist 3 is skilled in technical work involving specialized testing, maintenance, and repair of utilities systems equipment, lines, or devices. Employees in this class perform routine and preventive maintenance on a variety of utilities systems and devices. Duties may include supervising skilled and semi-skilled employees, and work is performed in accordance with established procedures, but requires initiative and independent judgment.</p> <p>This is an excellent opportunity to bring utility maintenance experience into a mid-level career ladder role for a Utilities Operations Specialist 3 (UOS3) level. There are also future opportunities to advance to a UOS4 level, supervisor, or manager roles.</p> <p>What Will You Do?</p> <ul> <li>Lead person of a small to medium-sized construction crew installing, maintaining and repairing of water, sewer, and reclaimed apparatuses. </li><li>Performs and directs visual inspection of sewer lines. </li><li>Installs clean-outs, backflow devices. </li><li>Performs related work as assigned or required. </li></ul> <p>What Do You Need?</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED and 3 years of skilled utilities field experience; or </li><li>An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. </li><li>Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Florida Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker endorsement upon hire with eligibility based upon evaluation of a Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) driving report. </li><li>Possession and maintenance of a valid Level 3 Water Distribution System Operator License obtained in accordance with Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 62-602, Drinking Water and Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators upon hire. </li><li>Possession and maintenance of Temporary Traffic Control Certification within 9 months of employment. </li><li>Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations. </li><li>Candidate may be required to perform manual labor for extended periods occasionally in adverse weather conditions. </li></ul> <p>Highly Desirable</p> <ul> <li>Ability to operate medium to large excavating equipment. </li><li>Working knowledge of GIS mapping system for water, sewer and reclaim infrastructure. </li></ul> <p>Let Us Tell You What Benefits We Offer!!</p> <ul> <li>Our benefits rank among the top in the area!
