Our Hematology & Oncology Unit cares for patients receiving chemotherapy, blood products, and complex medical treatments.</p> <p>As a Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR), you are the central hub of communication for the unit-supporting nurses, providers, patients, and families to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.</p> <p>What makes this unit and role stand out:</p> <ul> <li>A supportive and collaborative oncology-focused team </li><li>The opportunity to work closely with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, providers, pharmacy, and ancillary departments </li><li>Exposure to a specialized patient population and complex clinical workflows </li><li>Flexible PRN scheduling </li><li>Leadership that values teamwork, attention to detail, and professional growth </li><li>A meaningful role where your organization and communication directly support patient safety and experience </li></ul> <p>If you're organized, adaptable, and ready to play an essential role in a compassionate and fast-paced clinical setting, our Hematology & Oncology team would love to connect with you.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Serving as the primary point of contact for incoming calls, visitors, and interdepartmental communication </li><li>Supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges within the electronic medical record </li><li>Assisting nurses and providers with coordination of care and message routing </li><li>Maintaining accurate documentation, patient charts, and unit logs </li><li>Scheduling tests, procedures, and patient transport as requested </li><li>Ensuring workstations, supply areas, and communication tools remain organized and up to date </li><li>Supporting patient flow in a fast-paced, specialized care environment </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience: One year of experience in healthcare, preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Licensure/certification/registration: NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.</p> </li><li> <p>Additional skills preferred: Experience with answering multiple phone lines. Basic computer skills.
