<p>This Opportunity</p> <p>WSP is one of the globe's leading engineering firms, helping New England clients and communities improve their infrastructure, while committing to, and developing professional careers in construction management and inspection. Over the past thirty-five years our local construction management division and inspection team have overseen and inspected a wide range of significant projects. These include Connecticut's major interstate interchanges, the Charter Oak and Quinnipiac River Bridges, the railroad moveable Walk Bridge, and Rhode Island's East Side Transit Tunnel.</p> <p>Are you passionate about the work you do, and the difference it makes in the world. We are ready for you!</p> <p>WSP is currently seeking a Construction Inspector to help oversee road, bridge or related construction with construction values ranging from $1 - $ 50 million. This position can be based out of Providence, RI or Glastonbury, CT.</p> <p>The inspector, depending on experience, will oversee various work elements from paving, excavation, backfilling, compaction, cast-in-place concrete from formwork to reinforcement, installation of precast elements, bridge seats, bearings and joints, bridge rail, drainage, and other incidental items. The inspector will report to the Resident Engineer/Chief Inspector, or their designee.</p> <p>Your Impact</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <ul> <li>Interfacing with contractor's supervisors to determine and monitor daily work. </li><li>Perform field measurements and calculations for unit price item quantities. </li><li>Complete daily work reports in accordance with policies and procedures. </li><li>Help coordinate independent material sampling and testing or periodically perform the same. </li><li>Monitor maintenance of traffic. </li><li>Take and compile photographs of work activities for tracking daily progress. </li><li>Keep the Chief Inspector and/or Resident Engineer informed on all construction activities. </li><li>Exposure to highway and construction environments and year-round weather conditions </li><li>Potential for working days, nights, and weekends </li><li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma </li><li>Minimum 3 year of construction inspection experience. </li><li>Strong oral and written technical communication skills. </li><li>Ability to learn how to read plans and specifications, or the aptitude to learn </li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word and Excel </li><li>Valid Driver's License and reliable personal transportation </li><li>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field </li><li>Engineer-In-Training certification </li><li>NICET HCI Level II </li><li>ACI, NETTCP certification or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring </li><li>Hands-on experience with construction management software such as AASHTOWare Project, Headlight, </li><li>Procore, or similar systems </li><li>Knowledge of Bluebeam </li></ul> <p>#LI-DS1</p>
